Coronavirus: updates, advice and guidance

Our Street Cleaning Schedule

To make sure our streets and other public areas are clean and free of litter and rubbish, road sweeping and litter picking are scheduled on a regular basis

Road sweeping

We have different types of road sweepers for carrying out particular tasks across the borough.

We sweep the town centre roads daily and we are regularly in each of our Neighbourhood areas where we clean known hot spots, as well as any other reported issues.

Each year, from October through to December, we will focus on and prioritise removing leaves from public roads.

A12 litter-picking

We are responsible for the A12 from Easthorpe to Lodge Lane. Verges and slip roads are litter picked every three weeks. This is weather permitting. Main roads will be cleared when there is a road closure scheduled.

Street cleaning requests

We also regularly deal with street cleaning requests such as removing fly-tipping, cleaning up graffiti, litter picks and public bin issues which you can report to us online.
