About High Woods Country Park
High Woods Country Park is open seven days a week all year round. It has 17 pedestrian entrances which are never locked.
The Visitor Centre is located at the Turner Road entrance to the park. It provides the base and office for both the Country Park staff and volunteers. It is open to the public 7 days a week in the summer months and weekends only in the winter.

If you enjoy this trail you can come back another season and discover fascinating facts about the wildlife to be found in that season as well. We have 4 trails for you to enjoy: spring, summer, autumn and winter.

The high woods country park visitor centre and toilets will be closed on the weekends of the 25th and 26th December and the 1st and 2nd of January. In addition, the toilets will be closed on the bank holidays Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th December.
October - March
The Visitor Centre is open on weekends between 10am and 4pm.
April - August
The Visitor Centre is open 7 days a week from 10.30am - 4.30pm (excluding elections when the Visitor Centre is used as a polling station only).
The Visitor Centre is open on weekends between 10.30am and 4.30pm.
Public toilets including disabled are attached to the Visitor Centre and are open daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Baby changing facilities are available in the disabled toilet.
There are two car parks:
- High Woods Country Park Car Park on Turner Road (adjacent to the Visitor Centre).
- Chanterelle car park, on the Highwoods estate, off the A1232.
