What is the point of building a multiuse community hub when we already have the community centre?

The project aims to create a new community facility that will provide a range of services in a central space.

This will bring together facilities such as a doctors surgery, community centre and housing office. Bringing these facilities under one roof will enable the community to receive greater support. 

We recognise the role of the existing community centre and the essential services that it provides. There is certainly no desire to take any of this away, but the building is in need of modernisation, which will allow us to provide improved services to the community. We will work with the design team and the community to establish the configuration of the community centre.  

We don’t plan on taking anything away – we want to improve on what is already there.
