Notice that Colchester Borough Council intends to appropriate the open space land to the rear of Queen Street.

Intention to appropriate open space land

 

Notice is hereby given that Colchester Borough Council ("the Council") intends to appropriate the open space land described in the Schedule to this Notice ("the Land") for planning purposes in connection with the St Botolph's Development ("the Development"). 

The Land is believed to be used for informal recreation and forms part of a larger area of land which the Council intends to appropriate for planning purposes in connection with the Development. 

A plan showing the Land (and the whole of the wider area proposed for appropriation) is available to view.

Before making a decision on the appropriation of the Land for planning purposes the Council will consider any written representations or objections that are received before the date and time given below. 

Any objections or representations relating to the proposed appropriation of the Land must be made in writing, specifying the grounds on which they are made, and delivered to the address given below by no later than 5pm on 28 August 2020.

Next Steps

All representations were heard at the Cabinet meeting on 27 January 2021. Cabinet considered all objections and approved the appropriation of part of the land in the notice for planning purposes. You can read further details under item no. 538 in the minutes of the meeting.
