The main entrance to Castle Park is located at the east end of Colchester High Street next to the Castle. There area a number of other entrances including those on St Peter's Street, Roman Road, Museum Street and on Riverside Walk.
By Road: Parking is available with a charge at any of the city's car parks. The nearest car parks are Nunn's Road, Priory Street and Osborne Street. Follow town centre signage to the High Street and Castle Park.
By Bus: A number of buses stop on the High Street. Find nearby bus stops: City centre map - bus stops
Cycling: Cycling is only allowed along the designated cycle path that runs beside the river in Lower Castle Park.
The park is open everyday but is locked on an evening. Opening times are listed below, however some parts of the park may be closed to the general public during events.
Toilets will close 1 hour before the park.
Access will be restricted 30 minutes before the published closing time.
1 January to 28 February 7.30am to 5pm
1 March to 31 March 7.30am to 6.15pm
1 April to 31 September 7.30am to 9pm
1 October to 28 October 7.30am to 6.15pm
29 October to 31 October 7.30am to 5pm
Dogs are only allowed in the Lower Park and must be kept under close control.
