Notice is hereby given that the audit of our accounts for the year ended 31 March 2019 has been completed by our auditors.
We have prepared statements of the accounts that contain the auditor's reports.
For the accounts relating to year ended 31 March 2019, any local government elector for the Borough has the right:
- to inspect the statements of accounts and auditor's reports
- take copies of the whole, or any part, of the statements of accounts and auditor's reports
Any local government elector for the Borough can get copies of the statements by:

Audit of accounts - notice of public rights

Notice is given that the unaudited statement of accounts, for the year ended 31 March 2021 has been published on this website. The statement of accounts are subject to external audit by BDO LLP, Aphrodite Lefevre (Partner), 16 The Havens, Ransomes Europark, Ipswich, IP3 9SJ.
The period for the exercise of public rights commences at 9am on 05 July 2021 and will conclude at 5pm on 16 August 2021.
Members of the public and local government electors have certain rights in the audit process:
- From 05 July 2021 to 16 August 2021 between 9am and 5pm any person may inspect the accounts of the year ended 31 March 2021 and certain related documents (comprising books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts) at the address given below, except as provided for in Sections 26 (4) to 26 (6) of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 in relation to commercially confidential and personal information. They may also make copies of the accounts and documents.
- From 05 July 2021 to 16 August 2021 until 5pm any local government elector for the area of the council, or his/her representative, may object to our accounts as set out in sections 26 and 27 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. Written notice of the proposed objection must state the grounds on which the objection is being made and the particulars of:
- Section 28 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 namely to apply to the court for a declaration that an item in the accounts is contrary to law and/or
- any matter in respect of which it is proposed that the auditor could make a public interest report under section 24 of and paragraph 1 of Schedule 7 to the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 any item of account that is alleged to be contrary to law.
Any such objection should be sent to the auditor BDO LLP at the address given above and copied to the address below.
