Learning programmes

Learning programmes are between 6 and 10 sessions long, and include lots of topics within them, they are usually in person and take place on a Wednesday, with each set alternatively being held between Colchester and Tendring. 

Ten-week learning programme

This is provided over 10 sessions and provides knowledge and understanding on the 5 basic digital skills that has been recommended everyone should have, and much more. Including settings, camera, and smart technology for example Alexa. 

The recommended 5 basic digital skills are: 

  • Being safe and legal online   
  • Communicating   
  • Transacting    
  • Problem Solving    
  • Handling information and content

Information is provided for all devices PC, Laptop, Tablet and Smart Phones, upon arrival a workbook and pen are given to allow notes to be made as the sessions progress. This learning programme is interactive, and you may be asked to undertake some activities outside of the sessions to ensure that you have understood the lessons. 

It is recommended that before signing up for this learning programme that individuals have a basic level of understanding on how to use their devices. 

Top tips to finding a job online learning programme

Over the course of six sessions, the team will help individuals to prepare and search for jobs online. including: 

  • CV’s
  • skill check 
  • benefits
  • interviews,
  • searching and setting alerts 
  • providing tips and explanations

Where available, there will be one session that will include a Q&A  with relevant local specialists for example DWP representation, national career service advisor, financial inclusion officer, employment and/or benefits support officer.

On occasion due to unforeseen circumstances and seasonal changes, this activity may change at any time, and at short notice, although we will always try to keep this to a minimum.  

Within the calendar description, you will be directed to a book form to register, or you can complete an expression of interest for more information. Once you have contacted the team, you will receive an email or call from one of the team, to confirm your booking, advising you of dates and attaching any relevant details and documents. 

The team will continue to stay in touch with you, providing you with links, details and guidance for the sessions you have booked. 

Upon completion you will receive another email containing any resources relating to the sessions.
