The Big Five at Bull Meadow

A wildlife challenge for adults - Help the rangers find some of the more unusual and harder to spot wildlife around Colchester. – a big five safari for different countryside and park sites!

Bull Meadow was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1994 - one of the first to be opened in Colchester. It is 3.5 acres of unimproved damp meadow.

Why not try to spot the following species?

  • Water vole
  • Long tailed tits
  • Muntjac
  • Goldcrest
  • Great spotted woodpecker

There are two pedestrian entrances to the site on the path between Leisure World and Castle Park.
