Wild Homes

Most summers in Highwoods we run activities based around the little folk who live there, and we don’t mean the rangers!  

We run activities about fairies and pixies. This year we are not doing that, but you can still help the fairies. It is a terrible thing but fairy houses are sometimes knocked down in the woods. Can you make a pixie house?  

• What type of fairy or pixie might like to live in your home? 
• What could it be made from?
• What do you think they need in their homes?  

You could make a fairy home and revisit it another day to see if it is still there. Just remember not to pick any living leaves, include any living animals or anything too yukky! 

If you are not sure fairies in Colchester will appreciate you building them a home, why not build yourself a den.
