Background

There will be elections in certain parishes within the Colchester area on Thursday 2 May 2024.

The Parishes with scheduled elections for 2 May 2024 are:

• Dedham
• East Donyland
• Langham
• Marks Tey

Who Can I Vote For?

The details of all nominated candidates will be available on the Statement of Persons Nominated, which will be published at the close of play on Friday 5 April. 

Candidate Information

All current councillors who wish to continue in their position as a councillor will need to submit a nomination paper.

Any prospective candidate should email elections@colchester.gov.uk to arrange an appointment to submit their nomination. It is also preferable for a draft copy of nominations to be submitted via email before formal submission of any nominations. 

Completed nomination forms must be submitted in person. They must be submitted to the Deputy Returning Officer at Colchester Town Hall, High Street, Colchester CO1 1PJ. They must be submitted between the hours of 10am and 4pm from Monday 25 March until close of nominations at 4pm on Friday 5 April.
