Priorities Outcomes
Work in partnership to deliver shared ambitions for Colchester
  • Work with North Essex Shadow Board and the newly elected mayoral authority to develop a clear implementation pathway for the future and Local Government Reorganisation once Unitary decisions are made clear by Central Government in early 2026.
  • Fit For the Future Greening, Street Care & Safety: a refreshed plan for the service that sets ambitions to improve proactiveness, deliver within the financial budget, engage communities, improve environmental impact and develop partnerships. This will include a decision for the future delivery model of Grounds Maintenance across the City. 
  • Support local communities in the production of neighbourhood plans.
Delivery of modern, efficient & effective services fit for the future
  • Development and delivery of a Customer Strategy and delivery programme across the council family, ensuring services are modern, inclusive, and ready for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).
  • Fit For the Future Museums review to enhance income opportunities and support the visitor economy.
