Work in partnership to deliver shared ambitions for Colchester
  • Following the review in 2023/24, help the Council's commercial companies to consolidate where needed and to profitably provide a range of services and events, across the city and beyond
  • Delivery of Fit For the Future Shared Services ambitions in our Corporate Support Services, by improving our efficiency, maintaining skills and developing people to meet our challenges
  • Fit For the Future Street Care, Safety and Greening – a refreshed plan for the service that sets ambitions to deliver within the financial budget, engage communities, improve environmental impact and develop partnerships
  • Support Parish, Town & Community Councils in production of neighbourhood plans
Delivery of modern, efficient & effective services fit for the future
  • Fit for the Future delivery of an improved customer contact experience across council services and websites
  • Develop a detailed Estate Plan to support the first stage of the plan (Estate Strategy and Policy) adopted by Cabinet in March 2024
  • Fit For the Future Museums review to enhance income opportunities and support the visitor economy
  • Implement a new operating model (Corporate Landlord) to ensure a more joined up approach to estate management
