Strengthen Colchester’s tourism sector and welcome more visitors each year
  • Launch a refreshed Visit Colchester website
  • Amphora delivery of vibrant and diverse events calendar working together with city partners to enhance the visitor economy and place the Colchester firmly on the map.
  • Support the continued success of The Creative Colchester Partnership through its Board and projects
Make the most of our Heritage and Cultural offer
  • Delivery of 2024/25 budgeted Cultural and Creative Grants including Mercury, Arts Centre and Firstsite grants and small grants scheme.
  • Multi Million essential Capital works to ensure our heritage for future generations – including, significant works on the Town Hall, Castle and museums to ensure they are conserved, accessible and well displayed for residents and tourists. Progress a Natural History Museum funding application for future redevelopment and progress Fieldgate Quay repairs in the Hythe area of Colchester.
  • Improvements to Castle Park including the redevelopment of Childrens Play Area.
  • Deliver a programme of learning, exhibitions and events in our museums that engage residents and school children and teach them about Colchester's history as well as attract tourism to Colchester.
  • Proactively use legal powers to ensure buildings, streets and spaces are well maintained and attractive for residents and visitors to our city
