Winter support and coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance

Colchester Borough Council is providing support for residents, businesses, and communities throughout winter. The government has announced that England will move to Plan B in response to the risks of the Omicron variant. Check the guidance on GOV.UK for what this means for you.

The Council's Recovery Plan

Overview

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, the council and its partners have developed a comprehensive programme and action plan to help the borough, residents, businesses and the council itself recover from the impact of the virus and national lockdown regulations.

The wide ranging plan is divided into four ‘cell’ areas – Economy, Community, Customer and Council – incorporating the ‘cross cutting’ themes of Housing, Finance, Climate Change, Sustainability and Commerciality.

A range of key objectives and activities have been identified in the plan – with short term work completed in July 2020. Medium term activities will continue until April 2021, with the long term work programmed to continue beyond that.

To reflect the constantly changing local position, the recovery action plan is updated and improved on a regular basis.
