The Council is required by law, section 151 of the local Government Act 1972 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 1996, to conduct its business efficiently and to ensure that it has sound financial management policies in place, which are strictly adhered to.

Part of this process is the establishment of Financial Regulations, which set out the financial policies of the Council.
