Help shape Colchester City Council’s budget for 2026/27

PUBLISHED: 13 November 2025

Colchester City Council is inviting residents to share their views on spending priorities as part of its annual budget consultation. Running from 11 November to 9am, 8 December, the consultation will help inform the draft budget for the 2026/27 financial year.

The council aims to balance delivering essential services with investing in Colchester’s future. With increasing pressures on local government finances, it wants to hear what matters most to you. Your feedback will help inform decisions on how resources are allocated across services such as waste collection, parks, leisure, housing, and community safety.

Residents can take part by completing the online survey on the Colchester City Council website.

To ensure a wide range of views, two dedicated sessions will also be held with the Council’s Residents’ Panel on Wednesday 26 November, 10am and 7pm. If you would like to join the panel and have your say on key issues throughout the year, find out more and sign up at colchester.gov.uk/residents-panel.

Cllr Mark Cory, Portfolio Holder for Resources, said: "We know every pound counts, and your input is vital. By telling us what services you value most, you help us make informed decisions that reflect the needs of our communities."

The consultation closes on 8 December 2025 at 9am. Don’t miss your chance to have your say and help shape Colchester’s future.
