Leisure World Tiptree is excited to announce that its Junior Beginners Climbing Course, designed for children aged 8–15 years is back. Whether your child is a first-time climber or looking to build on existing skills, this course offers a fun, safe, and structured introduction to the world of indoor climbing.
Children will have the chance to scale the striking, bright red climbing wall a centrepiece that’s as exciting as it is challenging! Under the guidance of qualified instructors, participants will learn essential climbing techniques, including auto belays, knot tying, and belaying, while working towards three progressive skill levels.
Why Climbing? Indoor climbing is a fantastic way for children to stay active, build strength, coordination, and balance, and improve cardiovascular health and posture. As they navigate climbing routes, children develop motor skills, body awareness, and resilience all in a dynamic, engaging environment.
Beyond physical benefits, climbing helps boost confidence, persistence, and problem-solving skills. Each climb is an opportunity to grow emotionally, teaching grit and fostering a sense of achievement.
Cllr Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Waste, Neighbourhoods and Leisure said: “We’re thrilled to offer a course that not only introduces children to the excitement of climbing but also supports their physical and emotional development,” “Our aim is to create a supportive environment where every child can build confidence, learn new skills, and make lasting friendships.”
