£100 vouchers up for grabs for residents taking part in the Waste Less Challenge

Colchester City Council has collaborated with Love Essex and is inviting residents to take part in the Waste Less Challenge: an eight-week campaign designed to help households reduce waste, save money, and support local businesses.

Starting this summer, participants will receive weekly emails packed with simple, practical tips on how to waste less; from reducing food waste and repairing household items, to shopping more mindfully. The challenge is free to join and open to all Colchester residents.

As an added incentive, anyone that signs up will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 voucher to spend at a range of local attractions, shops, and experiences. Bonus entries can be earned by completing short activities and sharing personal stories throughout the challenge.

Cllr Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Waste, Neighbourhoods and Leisure, said: “The Waste Less Challenge is a great way for residents to make small changes that add up to a big impact – for their wallets, their communities, and the environment.

This collaboration with Love Essex shows our commitment to reducing waste in Colchester. We’re proud to support a campaign that not only helps waste reduction but also celebrates and supports our fantastic local businesses."

Residents can sign up to the challenge until the end of the day on Sunday, 31 August and find out more by following this link.
