Colchester Borough Council are in the process of submitting a bid to the South East Local Economic Partnership (SELEP)’s Local Growth Fund for funding to redevelop Queen Street Bus Depot as grow-on workspace for the creative and digital sector.

This is a key employment sector in the town and there is a shortage of larger spaces for businesses to grow into as they expand and we want to address this.

The funding bid is very much based around development of workspace and economic growth and we are restricted by this and limited in terms of what can be done with funding for the site. But it is an opportunity to create something new and encourage growth and opportunities for creative and digital organisations in Colchester.

We are at a stage where as part of our business case we need to have Planning Permission to progress. As part of a study into the building in 2018, local architects Inkpen Downie created some concept plans and we are now working these up further.  We would love to know what you think.

On Wednesday 25 November we held a small webinar outlining the plans and building on the questions people asked we have developed the attached survey.
