St Botolph’s Priory Closed Churchyard and open space Consultation

We are looking at ways in which we can encourage residents to use the site more, including events and lighting the priory itself and would like your views.

IN THIS ARTICLE

St Botolph’s Priory is the first English Augustinian priory church, founded at the end of the eleventh century from the Anglo-Saxon minster community of Colchester. Only the ruined remains of the nave survive today, under the care of English Heritage and Colchester Borough Council. As well as priory ruins there is a large open space available for residents to enjoy. The site can be accessed from Priory Street, St Botolph's Church Walk or Britannia Car Park.

We looked at ways in which we can encourage residents to use the site more, including events and lighting the priory itself and listened to your views on how we can go about this.
