Hourly rate
The 2023 figures are based on 1,015 CCC employees (including casual workers) as at 31 March 2023 – 539 (53.1%) were men, 476 (46.9%) were women.Pay quartiles
These split the total number of staff into 4 groups, from highest to lowest earners:- Of the 253 employees in the top quartile - 108 are male (42.7%), 145 are female (57.3%).
- Of the 254 in the upper middle quartile - 136 are male (53.5%), 118 are female (46.5%).
- Of the 254 in the lower middle quartile - 153 are male (60.2%), 101 are female (39.8%).
- Of the 254 employees in the lower quartile - 144 are male (56.7%), 110 are female (43.3%).
Bonus pay
- This is mainly a small performance payment to waste and recycling staff (in the lower pay quartiles) in return for ‘no annual leave, no sickness absence’ over Christmas and New Year.
- Long service awards are defined as a bonus: CCC recognises the commitment of its employees to public service with £250 vouchers for employees achieving 25 years’ service.
