Garden Waste Subscription Service

From Monday 15 January 2024, garden waste collections became a subscription service. Unless you subscribe to the service, your garden waste will no longer be collected. 

Renewals and new subscriptions for the 2026 to 2027 financial year: 

Our Garden Waste Subscription Service will open for new subscriptions and renewals for the 2026-2027 financial year in early January 2026. 

New subscriptions and renewals are valid from when you receive a new permit by post, or a bin with a permit where needed, and will expire on 31 March 2027. 

2026/2027 charges 

Standard price 

The charges for new subscriptions and renewals paid for on or after 01 January 2026 and up until 31 August 2026 will be: 

• New subscribers will pay a £34.99 one-off joining fee per bin, and an annual service fee of £65.00 per bin (total £99.99 per bin). 
• Renewing subscribers to existing properties will pay £65.00 per bin. 

All subscriptions will end on 31 March 2027. 

The same fees apply to add one or more bins to an existing service, with a £34.99 one-off joining fee per extra bin and an extra annual service fee of £65.00 per bin. 

Mid season offer 

In line with previous years’ we are offering a half price service fee for all new subscriptions and late renewals giving up to seven months service available from 01 September 2026. 

The charges for new subscriptions and renewals paid for on or after 01 September 2026 and up until 30 November 2026 will be: 

• New subscribers will pay a £34.99 one-off joining fee per bin and a reduced annual service fee of £32.50 per bin (total £67.49 per bin). 
• Renewing subscribers to existing properties will pay £32.50 per bin. 

All subscriptions will end on 31 March 2027. 

The same fees apply to add one or more bins to an existing service, with a £34.99 one-off joining fee per extra bin, and a reduced annual service fee of £32.50 per bin. 

For 2026/2027 the garden waste service will: 

• offer up to 5 wheeled bins per property 
• allow residents to share a bin between 2 or more properties 
• offer residents up to 25 collections a year depending on the date of subscription. There is a pause for one collection during the Christmas/New Year period when our garden waste teams work alongside their recycling colleagues to help collect the large amount of recycling generated by households. 
• be a wheeled bin only service but with a choice of a standard wheeled bin or a smaller wheeled bin 
• be available to residents who previously received a universal garden collection service 
• be available for hard-to-reach properties accessible with one of our smaller bin lift lorries 
• offer the same assisted collection service as previously 

Collection Calendar: 

Collection Calendars may change during the year with both day and week changes for some residents. Please review your calendar to ensure you put your bin(s) out on the correct day. 

Please note:

We aim to deliver any required bins or permits within 14 days of order, except during busy periods when it may take longer. 

Your subscription will start on the next planned collection after your bin has been delivered or you have received your permit by post and attached it to your bin in line with our terms and conditions.
