Wivenhoe Town By-Election 12 March 2026

On Thursday 12 March 2026 there will be a by-election for a vacancy in the office of Town Councillor for Wivenhoe Town Council.

Nominations

Candidate nomination packs are available from the Electoral Commission.

The window for candidates to submit their nominations will open at 10:00am on Friday 6 February with a deadline of 4:00pm on Friday 13 February.

Anyone interested in standing as a candidate is encouraged to register their interest by emailing elections@colchester.gov.uk

Nominations must be submitted by hand and by prior appointment. We recommend emailing a copy of your nomination to the elections office for an informal check before you submit it in person.

Anyone wanting to vote in person on the day of the election will need to attend William Loveless Hall. 

Polling Station

We will use William Loveless Hall as the one polling station site on the day of the election. 

Voting

Information for voters is available on the Electoral Commission website.

You can register to vote at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

If you have already registered at your address and have not moved, you do not need to register again. If you are unsure whether you are registered, contact us to check.
