Notice of election for the Parish of West Mersea Town Council

1. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Town Hall, High Street, Colchester CO1 1PJ on any working day, Monday to Friday, from Wednesday 24 July between 10am and 4pm, but no later than 4pm on Thursday 01 August 2024.
2. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Town Hall, High Street, Colchester CO1 1PJ, during the times stated above. Nomination forms are also available online.
3. If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 29 August 2024.
4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by midnight on Monday 12 August. Applications to vote can be made online.
5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 13 August. More information about voting by post is available online.
6.  Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 20 August. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document can be made online.
7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 20 August.
8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 29 August.

Paper applications can be submitted in one of the following ways:

• By post to Rowan House, 33 Sheepen Road, Colchester CO3 3WG.
• By hand delivery to Colchester Town Hall, High Street, Colchester CO1 1PJ.
