Hilly Fields Local Nature Reserve Summer Insects and Butterflies Hunt
Join the ranger and Colchester Natural History Society looking for butterfly and day-flying moth species as well as other grassland, heathland and tree insects, dragonflies and damselflies.We hope to find and identify some of the digger wasps that like the free draining conditions of the reserve.
Bring any field guides, ID books or binoculars if you have them and wear appropriate footwear for rough ground. The event is weather dependant so call the High Woods Visitor Centre on 01206 853588 to check before the event that it is going ahead.
