Local community orchards
In 2021, we helped launch two community orchards, one in Magnolia Field, Greenstead, and one on land adjacent to Colchester’s Cemetery. Due to the success of these, we are looking to find more sites to plant on in 2022.
Community orchards are a wonderful way to bring communities together. The trees not only provide beauty to the local landscape, but also create calming areas where people can find peace and serenity.
The community element of the orchard helps friendships develop and thrive, enables people to learn new skills and discover new interests, and once established, provide fruit for the community to pick and eat.
