Annual report 2021/2022 - Delivering for Colchester

This has been another challenging year for everyone. Colchester Borough Council is as affected by rising costs and COVID challenges as anyone else. However, through hard work and sensible management we have delivered £2.5m savings this year and will save over £2m next year of residents’ money whilst not cutting a single service and enhancing existing and developing new ones.

By keeping a tight control on the finances, we have begun to implement the biggest investment programme in our lifetimes across the whole borough. This will bring new public space, jobs, buildings, better housing, better transport, infrastructure and make our borough an even better place to live, work and play for everyone. It will bring many millions of pounds of private sector investment with it. In our annual report you will see how we have taken our plans forward this year.
