How to watch the Women's Tour
The Women’s Tour is a free-to-watch spectacular event that celebrates women in sport and all things cycling.
The Women’s Tour Grand Depart will start in Colchester and finish in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk on Monday 6 June 2022. The event will combine world-class athletes with an amazing atmosphere in a fabulous part of Essex. This family-friendly event offers guaranteed excitement all the way through.
In Colchester the race starts at Colchester Sports Park, the fantastic new 76-acre site which provides both indoor and outdoor sport and leisure activities.
Highlights of this year’s race will once again be shown on ITV4 in the UK, and around the world via Eurosport and GCN.
Visitors will be welcome at Colchester Sports Park from 9.30am to enjoy this unique event.
The 1-mile floodlit cycle track will provide the backdrop to the Grand Depart as spectators get the opportunity to experience the spectacular venue, with its great range of cycling facilities. Be part of the action as riders and support teams prepare for the race and warm up around the track.
Meet the teams as all 108 riders will be presented to the crowds before the start. At 11am, Deputy Mayor Cllr John Jowers and Deputy Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jowers will wave the starting flag.
There’s plenty to do throughout the day - browse the stalls from local organisations and enjoy a programme of activities coordinated by British Cycling from 9.30am. There’s no need to book in advance. Bring your own bike or hire one on the day for £3 – helmets must be worn.
