Recycling and Waste Strategy 2025 to 2040 Implementation

Calendar Collection Changes

From 1 June 2026, kerbside collections will change for all residents.

Some residents will have a new collection day or week. These changes will help make the service more efficient and reduce ongoing costs.

Food waste will continue to be collected weekly. All other collections will be fortnightly.

Mixed recycling (paper and card, plastics, tins and cans) will be introduced for all kerbside addresses. Glass will continue to be collected separately. Garden waste will continue to be collected in wheeled bins for residents who subscribe to the service. Non-Recyclable Rubbish will also be collected from all addresses.

New collection cycle:

Week 1
  • Food waste in a 23 litre kerbside caddy
  • Non-recyclable rubbish in either:
    • A black 180 litre bin, or
    • Up to three 60 litre resident supplied black bags
Week 2
  • Food waste in a 23 litre kerbside caddy
  • Mixed recycling (paper and card, plastics, tins and cans) in either:
    • A green 240 litre wheeled bin, or
    • Clear recycling bags
  • Glass in a green box
  • Garden waste in up to five brown wheeled bins (where subscribed)
Your new collection calendars will be available in late May 2026.
