On Sunday 18 September 2022 members of the public and dignitaries attended a church service to celebrate the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Mayor of Colchester, Cllr Tim Young, led a procession of local dignitaries through the town to the service at St Peter’s Church, North Hill. The service was led by Reverend Mark Wallace, who was joined by the Bishop of Colchester Rt Revd Roger Morris and the mayor’s Chaplain Rev Sue Howlett.
Following the service, Dignitaries, Alderman and Councillors observed the national one-minute silence at 8pm on the steps of the Town Hall and welcomed all the public that joined them.
