Under the Data Protection Act 1998 permission must be granted before the Council can discuss details of your Housing Benefit claim with your landlord or a third party. You can withdraw permission at any time by writing to us.

If permission is granted, we would be able to tell your landlord whether:

  • You have claimed Housing Benefit:
  • We have made a decision on your claim:
  • We have made a payment to you:
  • If more information is required:

We will not give your landlord any information about your personal, household or financial circumstances. By submitting this form you grant permission for the Council to discuss your claim with your landlord or a third party.

Please note that only details relevant to your benefit claim will be discussed. We  will not reveal details such as bank account numbers or payroll numbers.
