Emissions monitoring

Below is set out the Council’s emissions since the baseline year of 2018/19. This table will be updated annually to show the Council’s progress in reducing its emissions. The Council worked with the Carbon Trust to calculate its baseline emissions in 2018/19. These reports give greater detail on the breakdown of these emissions.

* These emission sources include staff commuting, staff business travel, waste production (emissions associated with treatment of waste) and water consumption (emissions associated with the supply and treatment of water consumed).

ⴕ These emission sources include council investments (Colchester Borough Homes and Colchester Amphora Trading Ltd), procured goods and services, leased buildings (those the Council own but do not operate out of) and upstream fuel and energy activities (emissions associated with the generation of electricity and gas the Council uses in its operations).
