Retention schedule 2023
The retention schedule lists the main types of records the Council holds, how long they should be kept for and why, before they can be destroyed. The retention schedule applies to all records irrespective of the format in which they are maintained or
the media on which they are held.
The retention schedule should be read in conjunction with Colchester City Council's retention policy.
The schedule is reviewed on an annual basis by the Information Governance Team. Any queries about the schedule should be raised with the Data Protection Officer by emailing dpo@colchester.gov.uk.
