2025 Christmas collections

There will be changes to resident’s recycling and waste collections over Christmas and New Year this year (2025). The changes will affect kerbside recycling and refuse collections, garden waste collections and flats bin store collections. We make these operational changes to ensure a reliable service continues throughout the Christmas and New Year period. Garden waste pause

Kerbside collection that would normally happen on Friday 26 December will now happen on Monday 29 December. 

As in previous years and in line with Garden Waste Collection terms and conditions, there will be no garden waste collections from collections normally scheduled from Monday 29 December 2025 until Friday 9 January 2026 whilst we focus on collecting Christmas recycling and rubbish. This represents one complete cycle in line with Terms and Conditions. 

Monday collection changes Christmas and New Year weeks

Flats bin-store recycling and rubbish collections scheduled for both Monday 22 December 2025 and Monday 29 December 2025 will now take place over the previous weekend. 

Tuesday to Friday collection changes

Christmas week: There will be no scheduled collections on Thursday 25 December and Friday 26th December 2025.

Tuesday to Friday scheduled collections will change as below:

Usual collection day: Tuesday 23rd December
New collection day: Monday 22nd December

Usual collection day: Wednesday 24th December
New collection day: Tuesday 23rd December

Usual collection day: Thursday 25th December
New collection day: Wednesday 24th December

Usual collection day: Friday 26th December
New collection day: Monday 29th December

New Year's Week: There will be no kerbside or flats collections on Thursday 1st January 2026.

Usual collection day: Tuesday 30th December
New collection day: Tuesday 30th December

Usual collection day: Wednesday 31st December
New collection day: Wednesday 31st December

Usual collection day: Thursday 1st January
New collection day: Friday 2nd January

Usual collection day: Friday 2nd January
New collection day: Saturday 3rd January

Missed bins

If your recycling (Paper, Plastics, Glass and Cans) is missed on Monday 22, Tuesday 23 or Wednesday 24 in Christmas week, take the materials back in and put out on your next scheduled collection day, missed bins cannot be reported for recycling on these days. Any missed bin reports for Black bags or Food will be collected as soon as possible taking into account the Bank Holidays and our collection policy.
