Applications to be considered at the next Planning Committee

A number of major recent planning applications or controversial other types of application are discussed at the Planning Committee.

Members who want to make representations at the meeting can register by emailing democratic.services@colchester.gov.uk. All public speakers must register before 12pm on the day before the meeting.

The applications going to Planning Committee on 6 November 2025 are:

252034 - Greenstead Community Centre, Hawthorn Avenue, Colchester, CO4 3QE

Demolition of Colchester Borough Housing/Family Solutions building (formerly The Centurion public house), proposed single storey extension to Greenstead Community Centre, recladding of existing building and formation of new public square, formation of enclosed external spaces to library building, minor works and recladding of entrance to Hawthorn GP Surgery, St Edmunds House.

Exclusion of the Public (not Scrutiny or Executive)

In accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 to exclude the public, including the press, from the meeting so that any items containing exempt information (for example confidential personal, financial or legal advice), in Part B of this agenda (printed on yellow paper) can be decided. (Exempt information is defined in Section 100I and Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972).
