Appeal a decision
If your application is refused or granted with conditions, you can appeal within 6 months from the date on your decision letter. There is no charge.
If no decision is made, you can appeal within 6 months of the expected decision date. If your appeal includes land or property owned by someone else, you must inform them before starting the appeal.
You can choose how your appeal is considered:
- Written statements (known as written representations)
- A hearing in person
- A formal local inquiry
Most appeals are decided through written representations. The process takes 20 to 30 weeks, with inquiries usually taking the longest.
You can submit your planning appeal through the Planning Inspectorate website.
