The Oyster Feast 2020: Video message from the Mayor of Colchester, Cllr Robert Davidson

The annual Oyster Feast, held every October, is an important part of Colchester’s history and civic calendar, but due to the coronavirus pandemic it is not possible to hold the Oyster Feast this year.

These pages have been put together to celebrate the history of the Oyster Feast and the Native Oyster.

In the absence of a 2020 Oyster Feast, The Mayor and Mayoress of Colchester, Cllr Robert Davidson and Liz Davidson visited the Colchester Oyster Fishery situated on the Pyefleet Creek on Mersea Island.
