Colchester City Council is making it easier for people to shop with more confidence. We would love local businesses to get on board and help people get back to what they love.

What is CBC doing?

We’re running this Make Your Day campaign to help customers feel confident about returning to the town centre and local shopping areas. We’ve provided hand sanitisers in busy places, widened cycle and footpaths, and asked businesses to provide quiet shopping hours. We’re also providing local businesses with promotional material, helping them to share stories on social media and organizing a promotional ´Get Back to What You Love´ month in March.

How can I get involved?

• Join the campaign and get your promotional materials campaign pack.
• Consider offering quiet shopping hours for cautious or vulnerable customers and tell us about them.
• Support the Colchester Gift Card initiative to encourage customers to go local.
• Share stories on social media about the warm welcome you can offer customers.

• Tell people why in person experiences are better – what can you offer?
