Green Networks and Waterways

The Green Networks and Waterways consultation has now closed. Colchester City Council is reviewing the Local Plan.

We want to make improving the green network and waterways and enhancing the environment, the starting point and key purpose of the Local Plan Review.

To help us understand people’s views on the existing green network and waterways and gain ideas for improving the network through new green spaces, we ran a consultation from 14 November 2023 to 05 January 2024.

The engagement included three maps:

1. The first map asked for comments on the existing green network.
2. The second map asked for comments on existing waterways.
3. The third map asked for ideas for new green spaces and waterways

Comments will be used to shape the Local Plan Review and have been shared with other council departments, such as the parks team and other organisations including Essex County Council.
