House to house collections
You will need to apply for a house to house collection licence to collect money or goods, which you later sell, for charitable purposes from people’s homes.
Organisations that hold a National Exemption Order do not need to apply for a licence but must inform us of the dates and areas of any planned collections.

- Applications for licences relating to emergency disasters will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Applications can be made for the entire City or parts of the City.
- Charities are allowed one collection per quarter.
- Collections can only last for a week.
- Collections can only take place between 9am and 7pm.
- Evidence of public liability insurance cover of £5million must be provided with the application.
