Temporary event notices
A Temporary Event Notice (TEN) is a formal notice to the Council that an event will take place.
We will only take action to stop an event if we believe it may undermine one or more of the licensing objectives. For example, this could happen if there were problems at previous events or if there are concerns about the plans for the upcoming event.
Making an application
Detailed information about submitting a TEN and the licensing process can be found in the Guidance for Applicants. Read this before making an application.
You can apply for a TEN online.
Objections
The Police and Environmental Protection team can object to a TEN.
If an objection is made to a standard TEN, the application will be considered by the Licensing Sub-Committee.
If you submit a late TEN and an objection is received, we will issue a counter notice and the event will not be allowed to go ahead.
Tacit consent
Tacit consent applies to all valid and correctly served TENs with no objections.
If you do not hear from us within five working days of submitting your application, you may proceed with your event.
