PUBLISHED: 18 November 2021

A brand new, free, festive shopping event from Colchester Events is coming to the town this month.

The new Christmas Market takes place at the Town Hall, High Street, CO1 1PJ on the weekend of 27- 28 November from 10am - 5pm each day.

Visitors can browse and buy from over 50 stalls from local makers, producers and suppliers. A huge selection of locally sourced and made goods will be on offer including arts and crafts, baby gifts, blown glass, beer, wine and spirits, clothes and fashion, eco products, hand painted decorations, hampers, jewellery, pet products, pottery, skincare and beauty products, soft toys, textiles, wax melts and candles, woodwork and Christmas wreaths.

Cllr Sue Lissimore, Portfolio Holder for Resources, said: “This is the first of what we hope will become an annual festive market in the heart of Colchester. We want to give artists, craftspeople, growers, makers and producers the opportunity to showcase and sell their wares and we’re so pleased to have so many local stall holders at this first event. With everything sourced or made locally, it’s sure to get shoppers in the festive spirit as they search for the perfect gifts for their loved ones.”

Colchester Events is part of Colchester Amphora Trading Ltd (CATL) a company established and wholly owned by Colchester Borough Council. All profits are reinvested to support the delivery of council services to the borough’s residents.

Over 50 stalls will be spread across three Town Hall venues – the Mayoral Suite, The Moot Hall and The Old Library.

Entry is free. To register a free place visit: Christmas Market - Colchester Events
