Colchester’s popular Food and Drink Festival returns for 2021

PUBLISHED: 27 May 2021

Organisers of the popular Colchester Food and Drink Festival are delighted to announce that the event will take place across the weekend of 26 and 27 June 2021.

The event, which regularly brings in thousands of visitors to Colchester, will take place in the town’s Lower Castle Park for its 17th year. Chef and demonstrator Mark David will head up the Celebrity Chef Kitchen.

Don Quinn, Event Organiser at ‘Food and Drink Festivals UK’, said: “We can’t wait to bring this family-friendly festival back to Colchester. This year’s event will be bigger than ever and will feature more than 120 stalls offering local and international food and drink.

“We’ve been working in partnership with Colchester Events and organisations across the region to create a terrific outdoor festival where visitors can have a really enjoyable and fun day with the balance still in favour of safety.”

Visitors can enjoy a picnic, listen to live music and stroll around the stalls trying some of the artisan produced local goodies. The Pikestaff Inn real ale bar along with a wide variety of stalls, featuring local and international food and drink to ‘try and buy’, will be spread over a larger area to allow for socially distanced boulevards to help keep visitors safe.

The picnic area has also been enlarged to give more space for everyone and music will also return in line with Government rules. Dogs with responsible owners will be welcome.

James Young, Operations Manager, Colchester Events said: “Colchester Events is very proud to host this truly family friendly event within the beautiful grounds of Castle Park. The festival looks set to be a real celebration of food and drink and will provide a welcome boost to so many local producers and traders.”

Tickets, costing £5 for adults, are on sale at Food and Drink Festival 2021 - Colchester Events (colchester-events.co.uk)
