This Licensing Act 2003 requires us to prepare and publish a Statement of Licensing Policy and to review this every five years. The policy sets out how we handle and administer applications made under the Licensing Act 2003 and how we expect people applying for a licence to promote the licensing objectives of:
the prevention of crime and disorder
the prevention of public nuisance
public safety
the protection of children from harm
This Policy tells you how we will deal with applications made under the Gambling Act 2005. The Gambling Act 2005 requires us to prepare and publish a Statement of Licensing Policy every three years. The policy sets out how we will handle and administer applications made under the Gambling Act 2005 having regard to the limitations placed upon us by the Act. Under the Act we must aim to permit the use of the premises if we are satisfied that the proposed operation is in accordance with any relevant codes of practice in accordance with the Licensing Policy issued by us and is reasonably consistent with the licensing objectives of:
preventing gambling from being a source of crime and disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime
ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way
protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling
Our Sexual Establishment Policy details our approach to the regulation of sex establishments and how we will process applications for sex establishment licences.
Our Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy sets out how the Licensing Authority will determine applications and issue, review, revoke or suspend licences; vehicle standards and limits on vehicle numbers; and how drivers and operators are expected to operate to pursue and promote the licensing objectives of -
protection of the public, safeguarding children and vulnerable persons; and the prevention of crime
