Town Hall listening session – your views can help shape a better Colchester

The Policy and Public Initiatives Panel wants YOUR views on the future of Colchester and is inviting residents to a Town Hall public session at 6pm, on 25 September, to hear and discuss new ideas for our borough.

The Policy and Public Initiatives Panel, which was set up by the Leader of the Progressive Alliance, Cllr Mark Cory, in May 2018, operates as a Committee of Cabinet. One of its main roles is to listen to ideas from the public about improving our town.

Residents were recently invited to take part in an online survey on what issues the Policy and Public Initiatives Panel should investigate as part of its work in the coming year. Ideas submitted at the Town Hall listening session will be combined with the results of the online survey to determine which initiatives should be taken forward, following Cabinet approval later this year, to help make Colchester a better place to live, work in and visit.

Cllr Mark Cory, the Leader of Colchester Borough Council, said: “The Policy and Public Initiatives Panel is an excellent channel for residents, councillors and other organisations to come together to help deliver on our ambition to make this great borough an even better place.

“I would encourage anyone who has ideas about how we can improve Colchester to come along to the Town Hall meeting on 25 September, where you can give your views direct to the Panel or in writing.”
