Colchester Castle is offering families a unique sleepover experience, when it throws open its doors on Saturday 20 October for its second Knightzzz at the Museum event.
The event has been brought back by popular demand, following the success of a similar event in March, and is already selling fast.
Knightzzz at the Museum offers families the opportunity to spend the night in the Castle, the largest Norman keep in Europe and site of national historical significance.
This is a truly unique experience to see one of the country’s most visited tourist attractions after-hours – something not many people will get to experience. With options to bunk down in the Prison, Chapel, Scriptorium or the main floor of the Castle, everyone will have their own designated sleeping-space.
With a tour of the Castle, lots of family-friendly activities and a late night hot chocolate, plus breakfast in the morning, it promises to be a great Knight for the whole family!
Cllr Tim Young, Portfolio Holder for Business and Culture and Deputy Leader of the Council, said: “This is a fabulous opportunity for people to really cherish Colchester’s rich history and heritage in a rather special way.
“Those sleeping over will learn so much about the Castle and take away an experience to remember for life. Events like this help support the work Colchester Museums do to preserve our rich heritage for generations to come and build a Better Colchester.”
Tickets start at £30 per person or £25 per person for groups of four or more.
Private spaces for up to six people can be booked for £300.
Booking is essential. Please call 01206 282 939
