Colchester Castle opened its historic doors, last Sunday (7 October), for what was Colchester Events Company's second wedding open day at this popular venue.
Alongside the opportunity to meet the fantastic preferred suppliers and view the main Chapel and Charles Gray Room in the Castle itself, visiting couples were also privileged to be amongst the first to view the newly-launched Secret Chapel, situated on the roof of Colchester Castle.
With a rustic stone floor, exposed wooden beams, stained glass feature windows and a glazed roof allowing beautiful natural light to flood the space, it really is an incredible addition to the Colchester Events Company’s portfolio of wedding venues.
Cllr Nick Barlow, Portfolio Holder for Commercial Services, said: “We’re delighted to have launched this iconic new ceremony-space at Colchester Castle. It's a beautiful historic setting and, along with our other fantastic venues throughout Colchester, is proving hugely popular with couples planning their big day, with many enquiries and even a few reservations since the launch at the weekend!
“The Colchester Events Company has a dedicated wedding team who work with our customers to ensure their wedding day runs smoothly within our beautiful venues. Our team is very experienced and will make every effort to accommodate your needs on your special day.”
