Colchester Council seeks tenant with health or community focus to lease Paprika House

Colchester City Council is keen to hear from community focused organisations, businesses and groups with the vision and ambition to manage Paprika House, Apprentice Drive, Colchester CO4 5SE.

The council is inviting public or private enterprises, with a vision to grow and prosper in the community or healthcare sectors, to view the new facilities and submit expressions of interest to run the community room from early 2024.

The Community Room is located within a residential area on the ground floor of a block of flats, close to the A12 and train station. The Community Room comprises of a large meeting room, kitchen and accessible toilet. The meeting space measures 42sqm (454sqft) and has one allocated parking space and two visitor spaces shared with the tenants of the flat block.

Cllr Natalie Sommers, Portfolio Holder for Communities, said: “We are eager to hear from community or social enterprise organisations, charities, or management groups that have the vision and passion to manage this facility in ways that will benefit the city and its residents.

“We are looking for a tenant that is committed to using the space to make a positive impact on the community, whether that is through providing health and social services, promoting arts and culture, or supporting economic development. This is an exciting opportunity for the right organisation to take advantage of a modern, flexible, accessible, and secure space to grow and thrive.”

 Viewing is designed to give interested organisations, their partners and their professional teams, who may wish to submit an Expression of Interest, an opportunity to tour the site and ask questions of the council’s Estates Team, which is managed by Colchester Amphora Trading Ltd.

The deadline for Expressions of Interest is noon on Wednesday, 28 February 2024.
