Tickets on sale now!

Christmas is coming to Colchester Castle. The winter months are always a fantastic time to pay a visit and when the Castle is decorated for the start of the festive season, it takes on a magical and enchanted feel. This year, there are plenty of fun events that the whole family can enjoy together, perfect for creating special memories.

We are thrilled to announce that tickets for our Enchanted Christmas experiences on the 19 December are now on sale. Choose a two-hour time slot from 11-1pm, 1-3pm and 3-5pm and head to the Castle and come face to face with our majestic and gentle Christmas Snow Lion and his Snow Queen.

The Snow Lion and his Queen can’t wait to greet happy families and let the build up to Christmas begin. During this wonderful event everyone will get the opportunity to get close enough to the lion to have photographs taken and whisper your Christmas wishes! During your enchanted experience, you can also get creative with some Christmas crafts, see Father Christmas, discover the Castle’s many treasures and displays, and visit Decoding The Roman Dead, the Castle’s new exhibition all about life in Roman Colchester. When you are all tired out, Father Christmas’s Elves and the Snow Queen will revive you with a festive mulled wine or hot chocolate and you can satisfy your hunger by munching on a yummy mince pie!

Councillor Darius Laws, Portfolio Holder for Economy, Business and Heritage for Colchester Borough Council said: “This wonderful event is guaranteed to put a Christmas smile on lots of children’s faces this year. We all need a Christmas treat and this experience is bound to be a Christmas cracker! Tickets are selling fast so call the team on 01206 282939 and get ready for an enchanted Christmas.”

An Enchanted Christmas costs £15 per person. Call 01206 282939 to book.
