Colchester Borough Council is offering shoppers an early Christmas present with free parking in the town during Late Night Shopping again this year.
Parking charges will be waived in all Council-owned town centre car parks from 3pm on the three Wednesdays in December: 5, 12 and 19 December. Many of Colchester's huge selection of boutique and big-name stores are opening until 9pm on these nights.
Car park payment machines will be covered and marked out of use to make it easy for drivers to take advantage of the offer.
Councillor Mike Lilley, Colchester Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Planning, Public Safety and Licensing, said: "We’re pleased to be able to offer free parking again this year to assist late night shopping. We hope it will encourage people to spend more time in the town, enjoying the festive activities and supporting local businesses, making a Better Colchester.”
