Following planning approval in January, work will soon begin on developing the new Putt in the Park for Colchester Castle Park.

The demolition of the old pavilion and construction of a new pavilion, putting facility and café will begin in early March, with the project due for completion in early summer.

The popular Putt in the Park already has facilities in Battersea, Wandsworth and Acton Parks, in London. Offering fun for all ages, Putt in the Park is perfect for children, groups, families and friends.

Local schools will be welcomed free of charge to Putt in the Park Colchester during term times, by prior arrangement.

Justin Fish, of Putt in the Park, said: “I am really excited to be bringing Putt in the Park to Colchester. Castle Park is already a stunning attraction and the addition of a Putt in the Park will bring even more for visitors. Work is due to begin soon and closer to completion I look forward to hiring staff and welcoming them to our team.”

Cllr Tina Bourne, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Communities, added: “Putt in the Park is going to be a great addition to our Castle Park and will offer more opportunities for residents and visitors to get active and have fun.

“This new facility ties in so well in our vision to make a Better Colchester, as well as our encouragement of healthier and more active lifestyles.”
